Tiny triangles and tiny vintage white glass cup beads on French hooks.
Why Micheline? I have an aunt named Micheline, who died a couple of years ago. I saw her rarely, but she was warm, and very French Canadian. She always spoke in little Frenchisms. The last time I saw her, in 2005, she gave me the antique violin that my grandmother had willed her, which had belonged to my grandma’s concert violinist brother, as she felt it better suited me. It is one of my most treasured objects.
Micheline was also the name of the woman who wore the very first bikini, in 1946, and that’s what these little triangles remind me of. So, when I saw the name, it made sense, two, or bifold.
